I am a native Chicagoan and remember when the Prudential Building was the tallest skyscraper in the city! Residing in the city and surrounding suburbs my entire life gives me a unique perspective of the “windy city” culture. Growing up fourth in a family of five children, I knew at an early age I wanted to help people connect.  My youngest brother Tom was born with a disability that required special attention. My name is Karen Dorner and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) with a Masters in Mental Health Community Counseling from the University of Louisville. I have been working as a counselor for over 11 years and I am so lucky to continue to love what I do all these years. My core passion is helping others improve the quality of their lives by overcoming and working through their pain, anxieties, and traumas and by navigating life’s challenges.
